My New Blog
I am a student at Curtin. I am from America and have never used a blog. I am studying elementary education and minoring in psychology. I think networking is so important in the field of education because so many people can share their views and ideas. Children are all so diverse and I do not believe there is one right way for every student. I think online networking is a great way to share not with just the people around you but with people from all over as well.
My minor in psyc will b used to work with children ho have been abused or neglected. I have a heart for inner city children and would love to work at an inner city school in the future. I am interested to hear different peoples stories and to find out what works in their classroom and what doesn’t.
This site is not for personal information, it is strictly a networking blog to learn more about furthering the education of the students in our classroom.

Opening our minds…
I’m really pleased that you have chosen to visit our University and participate in this class. As you mention in your blog post everyone has different views and ideas and having the opportunity to share these with others can broaden and inform our own personal views and opinions. Lina

katie,
I completely agree with your outlook on the improtance of networking. I am a business major and realize that networking can lead to numerous opportunities for the future. You sound like you have great intentions on what you want to do with your life. Working with inner city will present a great challenge, however it sounds as though you are on the right path. Good luck with your studies and have a safe trip back to the states.

There is tons of networking that goes on in the business school. In fact I took a class that was designed to focus on networking and allowing business majors to learn about other business professions around the Wilmington area. As for blogging, I have not had to do that as much. Blogging is an interesting technique to networking, so i may have to try it later in my studies.

Oh that class sounds like a good one-I think it is very important for networking-I am not so sure about the blogging thing though-do you use them for any other uses or are you just starting out blogging too–do you think they are safe?

I think blogging is safe for the most part. I guess there could be dangers involving blogging if you gave away too much information, but other then that, there should not be too much danger. This is the only blogging I have done thus far, but I do potentially see this as a great networking too. I may have plans to use this in the future. Good luck with school.
